Our Story

Co-founders Malcolm and Pivotal R. Sales are the parents of 12 children, six of which have finished or now attend college debt free. Mr. Sales is a graduate of Morehouse College and a software developer. Mrs. Sales is a graduate of Spelman College and Stanford University, and an educator/journalist. Together they have been running Healing Waters Christian Academy, a homeschooling network and providing ACT tutoring services for over two decades.Â

The Sales have served the Atlanta metro areas and national and international communities through on-site and virtual learning. With a focus on teaching students through their gifts, Gifted Learning ACT Prep Academy became a natural by product as students matriculated into post secondary education.Â

Son-in law Jaylen Watson joined the team in 2024. He is a mechanical engineering and applied physics major. He received his applied physics degree from Morehouse College and will receive his mechanical engineering degree from the University of Michigan in December 2026.Â

Mrs. Sales develops students' personalized test taking strategies and tutors in Reading, English and Science. Mr. Sales enforces the strategy through repetition. Mr. Watson provides training in mathematics.

OUR SUCCESS STORIES

I am 16 years old and in the 12th grade. I have taken the ACT three times, starting at 20, improving to 22, and now reaching 28. My Reading and English scores have shown the most increase, with English going from a 27 to a 34 and Reading going from a 25 to a 29. Gifted Learning forced me to take the time to truly understand the test rather than simply taking practice tests over and over. The program had me wake up at 5 am on Fridays for practice tests. This made the actual 8 am test time feel ten times easier. The program also helped me focus on one section at a time, studying the ins and outs of each subject and learning the strategies that worked best for me. By the time I began taking the actual test, I had already built a strong foundation of knowledge and strategies that allowed me to put what I learned into action.

Gifted Learning ACT Prep has helped bring my math composite Score from a 12 to a 23. The reading and English tutoring helped me keep a steady 26 in Reading. Teachers sat down with me and explained the real reason why I was getting a 12. It wasn't an ability problem but a mindset problem. I would lose time answering questions in the first half of the test while running out of time, practically guessing the second set. They gave me a strategy that worked for me and practically doubled my score.
